Contaminated Site Remediation and Closure

Geological Service Inc. has completed contaminated site investigations at dozens of commercial and industrial sites contaminated by synthetic organic chemicals, petroleum fuels and other hazardous or toxic wastes. 

In many cases, contaminant plumes have been reduced by as much as 95% of thier original size over periods of time ranging from a few months to a little more than a year. 

Geological Service Inc. success in this area is based on a comprehensive site characterization process by which the hydrogeological and geological setting of the site is defined in detail.  Using data collected during the site characterization process, Geological Services then uses all available information to design effective site closure plans leading to attainment of project objectives as quickly as possible and at minimal cost. Most projects have gone from discovery and definition phases at the beginning of the project, through work scope design and regulatory agency negotiation, and finally to contaminant recovery system installation, operation, and performance monitoring.  Among other regulatory closure pathways, Site Closure has been completed under:
